OPEN AUDITION FOR THE SELECTION OF

INSTRUMENTALISTS 2009

 APPLICATION FORM

In order to cover a vacancy in the Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla, an open audition has been called for the following position, according to the labour category:

WIND FIRST PARTS

Second Bassoon/ Contrabassoon   1 (audition on 26 September 2009 at 9:30 a.m.)

 

 

This position will be chosen based on the following criteria:

1/ Orquesta de Sevilla, S. A. (OSSA),  managing agency of the Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla (the orchestra) issues the present Public Call, in order to cover the instrumentalist vacancy mentioned above, for this, OSSA will be holding an objective audition in the month of September. This audition will be held in Seville, in Teatro de la Maestranza (Temprado street nº 6, Maestranza Theater).

2/ OSSA will offer a work contract to those instrumentalists who will be chosen.  This contract will comply with Royal Decree number 1435/85 dated August 1 which regulates the  specific labour laws for public show artists. 

Those selected candidates will join the orchestra discipline as of the 3rd of January, 2010.

The offered contract will end on July 31st, 2010. This first contract could be extended.

3/ The annual gross income for the  offered posts in the category of wind and percussion first parts (including the diverse salary concepts and distributed in 14 payments per year) is : 38.220.,84.- .

This amount will have an annual increase of 1.030,80.- , for maintaining personal instruments.

4/ The incorporation of the selected musicians will not be consolidated until a trial period of two months after their joining the orchestra will be completed.

5/ According to the valid  Labour Agreement of OSSA , contracts will be subjected to the pact of symphonic dedication.

6/ Travel and hotel expenses to participate in the auditions will be paid by the candidate. 

7/ The posts offered could be declared void.

8/ All those over 18 years of age (the day of the audition), and who do not exceed the legal age that enables a social security retirement pension, those with no physical defect or illness that would hinder his/her performance and those musicians who have never been dismissed for disciplinary reasons in a similar activity (either labour wise or as a civil servant) are eligible to participate in this audition.

All those disabled who are not affected by the above mentioned paragraph, will be admitted to participate in the audition with the same conditions as the rest of participants.

All those disabled will comply with the Law 13/1982 of April 7. For this purpose, they will have to present together with the Anexo II, the documents that prove their disability and its grade.

The falsification of any information will automatically cancel the contract.

9/ The candidates may apply to the auditions by filling out the official request on APPENDIX II. Also, the candidates will have to send a copy of their CV or résumé, the accreditation of the degrees held and any proof of artistic or professional merits considered necessary.

10/ The deadline for the presentation of the application forms  will be on 13h September, 2009. All application forms should be sent:

For applications sent by post, the date of arrival will be considered to be that of the date on the stamped postmark .

11/ OSSA will review the application forms received on due time and form on a previous selection process, after which the list of admitted participants to the auditions , will be published on the web page of the Orchestra:  www.rossevilla.com  and in the ROSS notice boards located in the Maestranza Theater.

12/ The selection committee will be formed according to the valid Labour Agreement of the OSSA at the time of the audition.

13/ The selection committee may, throughout the audition, ask the candidates to identify themselves, alter the order of the exercises,  interrupt the audition at any moment or propose a new audition as well as ask any necessary questions.

14/ The decisions of the selection committee will be unappealable.

15/ The audition of the candidates which can be held in phases, some eliminatory and a final phase, will be based on the specifications mentioned in APPENDIX I.

16/ There will be an accompanying pianist available for the applicants at the time of the audition.

17/ The candidates should come to the audition with the same instruments that will be used in the ORCHESTRA in the case that he/she fills the post.

18/ Tardiness or failure to appear at any of the audition phases will be understood as an irreversible resignation.

19/ The musicians chosen have to satisfactorily pass both medical and psycho-technical tests in order to become members of the Orchestra.

20/ In the case of the selected persons are coming from outside of the European Union, or from a country of the European Union with work accessibility restriction,  their contract will depend on the obtaining of their residency permit and work permit for Spain in a time limit of half of the contract period.

In case of previous possession of the residency and work permit, the applicants should submit these documents

*Auditions will follow an alphabetic order. A draw among the letters of the alphabet will determine the surname of the candidate who will make the first performance.

*Copies of the scores of the above mentioned works will not be provided by the Orchestra.
